Buffalo Lake Campground is a conveniently-located camping destination in the Northern Highland American Legion State Forest. It is right in the heart of the Northwoods with easy access to many of the Northwoods communities nearby. The campground is located in between Minocqua and St. Germain, Wisconsin.

Buffalo Lake is a 104-acre lake open for non-motorized traffic. The campground offers a beautiful beach area for families to enjoy.

Buffalo Lake Campground offers 52 campsites, 3 of which are available to reserve as double sites and accommodate up to 12 people. The campground also has 5 walk-to/tent only sites. There are no electric sites in the campground, however generators are allowed to run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

A State Parks and Forest Admission Sticker is required for camping. There are 4 hand pumps available for drinking water. There are also 3 pit toilets located throughout the campground as well. Firewood is also available on site for purchase.

Buffalo Lake Campground is on Highway J which has bike lanes that go to St Germain and Woodruff. In addition, there are some excellent hiking opportunities nearby to explore. Some of these trails include: the Heart of Vilas County Paved Bike Trail, Razorback Ridges, the Escanaba Trail & the Fallison Lake Trail.

Buffalo Lake Campground is a reservation only campground, so make sure you visit their website and see what is available. Reservations can be made up to 11 months in advance of your stay. This is a great option if you want to be centrally located around the Northwoods communities of Minocqua and St. Germain!
