Shannon Trail System is located 5-10 minutes northeast of St. Germain, WI. This trail system has experienced many changes over the years but always provides a beautiful outdoor experience to its visitors. The terrain around Shannon Lake features gently rolling hills and a large variety of different tree types that provide a pleasing environment to hike, bike, snowshoe or ski.
There are four loops that make up the trail system with the Green loop surrounding Shannon Lake being a visitor favorite. Each loop ranges in length from 1.9 (Yellow), 2.1 (Green), 4.7 (Blue) & 6.5 miles (Red). The trails are open to mountain biking & hiking in the Summer and fat tire biking, un-groomed skiing, and snowshoeing in the Winter.
There are two parking locations. One is located off Highway G approximately 2 miles east of Highway N in between Sayner and Eagle River and the other is located off Found Lake Road near St. Germain, WI. The parking area off Shannon Lake Road provides the shortest access point for the Green loop surrounding Shannon Lake.
