Morgan Falls is a gorgeous waterfall located in between Mellen & Cable, Wisconsin. The falls itself is a very narrow stream of water that drops a total of 70 feet into a pool located at the bottom. The rugged, moss-covered rock makes this one of the most picturesque waterfalls in northern Wisconsin.

To reach Morgan Falls you need to venture off the beaten path a bit. The parking lot is located on Ashland Bayfield Road, a well kept gravel road. You will either need to come in on highway 63 or 13 depending on the direction you are traveling from. Please use the map resources on this page for help navigating to this remote location.

From the parking lot, Morgan Falls is a relatively easy 0.75 mile hike one-way. The trail features a boardwalk and bridge to make reaching the falls easier for the average person. The parking lot also have a vault toilet available.

Morgan Falls is part of the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest and there is a $5 day use fee or you can purchase the $30 annual fee for access to the forest year-round.

The trailhead for the hike to the falls is also an access point for a gorgeous fall hike to the popular St. Peter's Dome. This is a large granite outcropping that provides incredible views of the fall colors and in the distance Lake Superior when viewed on a clear day. A write up about St. Peter's Dome is coming soon.

We highly recommend visiting Morgan Falls if you are in Mellen enjoying Copper Falls State Park or visiting either the Cable or Ashland, WI areas. Please use the following resources to plan your next visit.
