Nose Lake Trail is a lesser known trail system in the Northwoods. It is located on county forest land approximately 12 miles to the west of Rhinelander, WI. You can access the trail system via a parking lot located in between Highway K and Highway 8 on Oneida/Hancock Road. The parking area also has a portable restroom available for public use.

There are two loops that make up the Nose Lake Trail system: the east loop is 4.7 miles long and the west loop is 2.6 miles long with a 0.7 mile connector trail between the two loops. The west loop trail is open for biking during non-ski season. There is two way traffic so please keep to the right. The trail is groomed for tracked skiing only.

The Nose Lake Trail is an excellent beginner ski or bike ride since there is gentle terrain and no hills harder than intermediate difficulty. Another popular feature of the Nose Lake Trail is that dogs are permitted. Please be sure to control your canine friend when passing other outdoor enthusiasts.

A day or season pass is required to use the trail system. A Daily Pass is $5 and is only valid for the day of purchase. The Annual Pass costs $25 and is valid January 1 through December 31. These are intended to be individual passes, and therefore, only one person may be listed on each pass. Passes are available at all trail heads or from the Oneida County Forestry Office, the Rhinelander Chamber of Commerce and local businesses.
