Kentuck Lake Campground is a medium sized campground operated by the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest Service. It is located about 10 miles east of Eagle River, Wisconsin. This provides an excellent spot to set up camp and explore all that the Eagle River area has to offer.

Kentuck Lake got its name from early settlers from Kentucky. The campground offers 31 campsites to choose from. They are available for either tent or RV camping. Depending on the time of year for your visit, these sites will be available either by reservation or on a first come, first served basis. They are labeled on the Recreation.gov website which you can access below. The campground also offers pit toilets and drinking water is available.

Kentuck Lake offers some great fishing and wildlife viewing opportunities. The 955 acre lake has great fishing for musky, walleye, largemouth and smallmouth bass, crappie and perch. There is a paved boat launch to make it easy to get on the lake. Pets are allowed as well, but please be sure to keep them on a leash.

The Kentuck - Spectacle Lake Trail connects the two campgrounds and provides some gorgeous views of the surrounding forest. In addition there are some excellent hiking opportunities nearby to explore the National Forest. Some of these trails include: Anvil Lake Trail, Franklin Nature TrailHidden Lakes Trail, & Nicolet North Trails.

The campground is open from the beginning of May through November.  The next time you are visiting Eagle River, Wisconsin we highly recommend making camp at Kentuck Lake Campground.
