Kentuck and Spectacle Lake are two beautiful bodies of water that are popular with campers, fishermen, and nature enthusiasts. Connecting Kentuck Lake Campground and Spectacle Lake Campground you will find the Kentuck Lake - Spectacle Lake Trail. It is a gorgeous 2.5 mile, relatively easy hiking trail that runs through the Kentuck Lake State Natural Area.

This area is located east of Eagle River approximately 7-8 miles depending on which campground you travel to. You can find both campground locations using the links on this page.

The Kentuck Lake - Spectacle Lake Trail takes you on a beautiful hike through a gorgeous mixed forest and over several streams. Both campgrounds off both water and restrooms at each end of the trail, and a sandy swimming beach area at Spectacle Lake. Keep your eyes open while on the trail as you are likely to spot a variety of songbirds and other wildlife native to the area.

Pets are allowed to accompany you as long as they are kept on a leash. There is a $5 day use fee or you can purchase the $30 annual fee for access to National Forests.
